Now lets get to know Amaya!
In a few sentences describe your business?
I am simply a Pagan woman who has a clergy license. I will do any type of commitment ceremony, wedding, handfasting, vow renewal or any combination. Some might only want a handfasting, but not a legal marriage-all good with me. I love helping people with the most important part of the ceremony. It can be basic or extravagant – the couple chooses. I will travel anywhere in Arkansas.
Do you work alone?
Yes.
What is your Mission Statement?
To provide couples with a proper ceremony of their choosing whether just the 3 of us or a large gathering.
What is your favorite part about what you do?
The “I do’s.”
Why did you start this professional Journey?
Most it was a way to help the Gay and Lesbian community get married. There weren’t a lot of clergy that would marry them at that time. Now, thankfully, there are more. Plus, many don’t want a Christian ceremony, they want choices.
What can you offer customers that your competitors can’t?
As I said above, choices. They can write their own script for their wedding. I travel and my fees are very competitive.
How would you handle a herd of cats?
Shake a box of treats.
How do you include your Pagan faith in your work?
It’s included when a couple wants a handfasting worked into their ceremony. I tell the story of where “tying the knot” came from. Being Pagan, just isn’t about not be Christian, it’s also be flexible and appreciating the fact that no one person, no one wedding or ceremony is going to be alike. Being Pagan helps me to understand the needs of All, not just some.
